*** PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF DATE TO 6TH NOV *** Join us for this free Webinar entitled ‘The us of imagery to enhance performance’, presented by Tim Blankert. Imagery is a 'skill' we can use to (re)create an experience in our mind. By this, we can fool our mind to make it believe things are actually happening. This is a great way to improve our tennis skills. It has been shown that regular practice in combination with imagery gives better results than just practicing. During the presentation Tim will explain in detail how this fooling of the brain works, and why it can help you to improve your tennis or any other skills. Tim will discuss ways to apply imagery as a player and to implement it in your training sessions as a coach. The Webinar will cover the following: 1. The theory behind imagery. Why and how does it work? 2. The best method of using imagery, for optimum results. 3. How and when to apply imagery in practice and in matches. 4. Using imagery for well-being and recovery from injuries. At the end of the presentation, Tim will hold an open session to allow attendees to ask questions. Tim Blankert is 24 years old and has been playing tennis since he was 6. He studied Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, followed by a Masters degree in Sport & Performance Psychology. Whilst studying, Tim also became a Level A tennis instructor at the Dutch Tennis Federation (KNLTB). He started working at his local club and during his Masters degree did an internship at Heerhugowaard tennis club where he worked with youth players as the Sport Psychologist. His research for his Masters was on the influence of achievement goals on the effectiveness of visualization in tennis has been published in various Psychology Journals. Tim has recently finished working at The Global Tennis Team Academy in Mallorca having joined Jofre Porta’s team in April 2016.

Join us for this free Webinar entitled ‘Functinal training for tennis movement’, presented by Daniel McCain live from Virginia Beach, USA. At this event, Dan will share his thoughts of how a tennis player should approach their training, especially when it comes to movement. A player's biomechanics should be developed at the initial stages as without sound movement, the technique of the shot is severely compromised. By getting players to move with balance and use their bodies effectively, it helps with the outcome of the shot they execute thus reducing the risk of injury. The Webinar will cover the following: 1. Understanding the sequence of major strokes. 2. The importance of anticipation and first step speed. 3. The relationship between momentum and rotation. 4. The connection of dynamic balance with the sequence of shots. At the end of the presentation, Dan will hold an open session to allow attendees to ask questions. Born in 1979, Daniel McCain has tennis in his blood. His father was Director of Tennis at Saddlebrook in Tampa and Dan and his sister became College coaches. As a player he had career wins over players like James Blake, Taylor Dent and Robert Kendrick, but considers the highlight of his playing career to be winning the Boy’s 18 and Under US National Indoor title, just weeks after signing for a scholarship to play at the University of Michigan, where he graduated in Journalism and Psychology. His highest junior world ranking of 126 was achieved in 1998. As a coach, Dan has travelled and helped players on the ATP and WTA tours. He has been a Division 1 College Coach, Tennis Academy Director, and USTA Manager of Player Development. Dan is currently Director of Tennis at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club in Virginia Beach. He contributes to magazines and is the author of three books, the latest of which is Momentum on the ATP tour. Dan was the 2012 USTA Virginia Teaching Professional and the 2013 PTR Mid-Atlantic Pro of the Year. . Outcome, performance and process goals. The type of goals which work best. How to set and judge goals. At the end of the presentation, Tim will hold an open session to allow attendees to ask questions. Tim Blankert is 23 years old and has been playing tennis since he was 6.
